Netflix Announces Tim Burton’s TV Directorial Debut
Netflix has announced it has added the coming of age comedy Wednesday to its lineup. The show is based on the popular character, Wednesday Addams. Wednesday will also mark the directorial TV debut of legendary director Tim Burton.
While Wednesday Addams has been portrayed in various media as a part of the Addams Family, this will be her first ever young adult series.
Wednesday is a sleuthing, supernaturally infused mystery charting Wednesday Addams’ years as a student at Nevermore Academy. Wednesday’s attempts to master her emerging psychic ability, thwart a monstrous killing spree that has terrorized the local town, and solve the supernatural mystery that embroiled her parents 25 years ago — all while navigating her new and very tangled relationships at Nevermore.
Wednesday had been ordered for 8 episodes and Tim Burton will serve as both Director and Executive Producer. No premiere date has been announced as of this writing.
