Over the weekend at MagicCon: Las Vegas, some exciting news on upcoming sets was announced! MagicCon took place at the Las Vegas Convention Center, from Friday, May 1, through May 3, where Magic fans, collectors, and enthusiasts gathered. Thousands of Magic fans engaged in games, competitive play, attended panels, and witnessed the sneak peek of the upcoming sets. During the Preview Panel on Friday, Wizards of the Coast unveiled new details, cards, and artwork for upcoming releases. New sets include Magic: The Gathering | Marvel Super Heroes, Magic: The Gathering | The Hobbit, and Magic: The Gathering | Reality Fracture.
For Marvel Super Heroes, artwork for the new Vision and Mind Stone cards was revealed, along with a special guest, Paul Bettany. Fans watched Vision’s actor briefly discuss his role before placing the Mind Stone in the Infinity Gauntlet on stage. Magic: The Gathering | Marvel Super Heroes will launch on June 26, 2026.
The Hobbit & Reality Fracture
Revealed at MagicCon, Magic: The Gathering is returning to the beloved stories by J.R.R. Tolkien with Magic: The Gathering | The Hobbit launching worldwide on August 14, 2026. The set follows Bilbo Baggins’ infamous adventure to the Lonely Mountain and captures each event, familiar ally, and unforgettable foe. The set contains riddles, incredible designs, and stunning illustrations.
During the preview panel, designers Annie Sardelis and Nick Marcantel presented an array of impressive cards and treatments. The highlights included the Gleaming Gold Smaug, the featured headliner card, as well as Middle-earth Classic Artist Cards and Dwarven Language Cards.
“The Multiverse meets its match… Reality Fracture is the epic conclusion of the arc that began in Wilds of Eldraine three years ago. Following a showdown in the Meditation Realm at the end of Tarkir: Dragonstorm, Jace Beleren now seeks to reshape the Multiverse into his ideal vision.”
