Mad Cave Studios Expands Into a Galaxy Far, Far Away…

JAN. 27, 2026 (PORTLAND, OR) — Mad Cave Studios is proud to announce its collaboration with Lucasfilm Publishing to bring original Star Wars graphic novels to readers. Developed through Mad Cave’s Papercutz imprint, this marks the publisher’s first official entry into the Star Wars galaxy, with multiple all-new titles already in development.

With lightspeed on the horizon, fans can expect a new era of Star Wars graphic novels, featuring Star Wars: Smugglers and Scoundrels and Star Wars: Tales from the Outer Rim, coming Fall 2026. Doomed never to be taken seriously by his fellow scoundrels, the Lepi smuggler was one of the very first characters I ever experienced in Star Wars, long before I saw the films,” revealed longtime Star Wars comic writer Cavan Scott. “And now he’s back in his very first original graphic novel, chronicling his very first  meeting with long-term rival, Han Solo!”

The graphic novel marks illustrator Christian Colbert’s Star Wars debut:
