The Dragon-Award-winning Gun Runner is becoming a star-studded graphic novel and launching on Kickstarter this Tuesday, Aug. 11, 2026. Gun Runner was written by best-selling author Larry Correia (Monster Hunter International, American Paladin, The Grimnoir Chronicles trilogy, and Dead Six series) and John D. Brown (Dark God series and The Drovers series). The graphic novel is being adapted by Mike Baron (The Punisher, Nexus, The Flash, Florida Man, and his Badgerseries).
Hound Dog Media, Baen Publishing and Braly Image Group (BIG Studios) are partnering with Correia, who has written more than 30 novels and won four Dragon Awards and two Audies, and Brown, who written 10 books and won both the Writers of the Future first prize and the Whitney Award, to go with his Dragon Award. They brought on Mike Baron, who won the Inkpot Award and two Eisner Awards, to adapt the novel with his own unique style.
Gun Runner tells the story of Jackson Rook, and young man who has gone from hero to villain to … who knows what. The grizzled mech pilot turned criminal and smuggler, now has an epic mission: steal a top-of-the-line battle mech and deliver it to a planet so deadly even the air will kill you. Only the mission isn’t exactly as Rook was told and deep in the heart of the smuggler is the man who might rise above it all and become the hero he was meant to be.
Fans of sci-fi, mechs, and thrilling adventure will love Gun Runner. The Kickstarter will offer subscribers a chance to receive autographed copies of the novel as well as get themselves included as characters in Gun Runner.
