What PERSONAL CONNECTION did you have with the MYSTERIOUS MASTER himself? What QUALIFIES YOU to carry forward his TREMENDOUS legacy?
Mark Ditko: Well, for one, I can say that I’ve known him since the day I was born, until the day he passed away. As his nephew (he’s also my godfather), we were initially connected as family, so he was around as I grew up. When I was in college, our relationship expanded from just ‘family’ to ‘philosophical’, so I started connecting with him differently at that point. Then I moved West, and letter writing became our method of conversing. In the late ‘80s, early ‘90s, I got back into comics and started attending comic conventions. Then my conversations with my uncle dipped deeper into the Comic Industry. So, our relationship spanned family, business, philosophy, and comics. And I don’t know anyone else who had that kind of relationship with him, making me very uniquely qualified to do what I’m doing.
