Get ready to explore the vast universe with the release of “High On Life 2.” Picking up after the events of the first game, Squanch Games brings players a game that capitalizes on what made the first game unique and amps it up to new levels.
It’s been five years since our heroic bounty hunter took down the G3 Cartel and made the universe safer for their fellow humans. While living life in the fast lane thanks to his fame, our hero is suddenly tasked with saving his sister from fellow bounty hunters. However, what started as a simple rescue mission quickly unravels into a universal conspiracy that once again puts the human race in grave danger.

Through this adventure our hero will do battle with a variety of enemies including various aliens, bounty hunters, parking lot attendants, big pharma, and there’s even a murder mystery (trust me it will all make sense). Joining in the battle will be some familiar and new Gatlians (organic alien firearms to newbies), our hero’s sister Lizzie, and our hero’s mentor Gene.
While offering the fun and comedy from the first game, the sequel really brings the player into a more vast universe, the level design is one of the game’s great features. The neon aesthetic really makes the world pop out to players. Each level’s design makes you want to explore every inch of it, which you should to obtain random items. Throughout the levels are also many interactive elements such as games within the game and various random videos on screens that you will want to keep your eye out for. Be careful to not take too long though, you still have a human race to save. Also, keep your ears open for the booming electronic soundtrack that helps being the fun and action to life.

A new aspect this time around is the new skateboarding feature. A feature that was omitted from the first game, but it was a good thing that it was brought into this game to offer an alternative to the typical “sprint” in most games. A more exciting element is added when you are busting out ollies and grinding on your board while blasting away enemies. It also helps make the game’s platforming elements a lot more fun to work through.

If you are looking for a game with action, crude humor, fourth wall breaks, unique worlds, laugh out loud references, and overall fun then look no further than “High On Life 2.” The game has a little something for all players.
