FANTASTIC COMIC FAN: Checked out Global Comix Lately?

Yesterday, I talked about what Global Comix’s acquisition of INKR means for fans and creators. Today, it’s about why fans and creators need to give Global Comix a closer look. First, let’s talk about pricing. At $6.99 a month or $70 a year, it’s the cheapest of the digital players in terms of pricing and comics.

For the past year, they have expanded the number of publishers, and every major publisher is now on the platform. You can read whatever is currently on rotation in their library, or buy digital copies if you want. You don’t even have to join Global to buy digital copies, but if you do, there is an additional discount for fans.  Much like ComiXology does when you buy comics off their platform. Yes, that remains a healthy financial part of Amazon, even if many fans have soured on the platform.

When the pluses of the “old ComiXology” were in place, it was a great place to sample and discover indie comics. You want to know how bad it is to find indies (if they are even on the platform)? Try searching for “Fantastic Four Vol. 1 1” and see what you get! If Amazon can’t get a simple search like that correctly, of course, there’s zero hope of finding indies there.

Indies have always been part of the Global Comix DNA, and they keep adding things for both fans and creators. They do allow you to follow both creators and indie publishers. Truthfully, you don’t need to pay the monthly fee to sample comics.  There are always freebies that are worth checking on the platform. Another nice feature is a section for campaigns. Global lets you sample the comic, provides links to the campaign, and lets you even comment on a particular comic.

They are always adding new things, sometimes things I miss don’t get the chance to check out as much as I want. (There are only so many hours in a day!)  Like, the Watch feature is all about keeping comic fans in one place by bringing the best comic‑focused YouTube content directly onto the platform. Instead of bouncing between reading a series and then heading to YouTube to find creator interviews, lore breakdowns, or deep‑dive history videos, fans can now do it all in one ecosystem. That is, if they want to! Not everyone is into expanding their ecosystem, but it is kind of fun if you are!

If you haven’t gone over to Global Comix, why not? It’s free to sample, and who knows what might catch the eye of that comic fan in you looking for the next fantastic comic to read!
