Crafting Creative Comic Book Covers
The panelists were Michael Cho, Mitch Gerads, and John Tyler Christopher, with John Kirk moderating. The group spoke about their favorite comic covers and why, what they gravitate towards when designing a cover (story, design, etc..), the best advice they received and would give to young artists, editorial input on their work, their favorite projects, who their influences are, if they are inspired by the story when designing the cover, digital and traditional methods of doing art, time management and deadlines, breaking into comics doing covers, differences between doing the main cover and a variant, what they learned in their pre-comics career that helped them.
