My longtime friend and fellow indie comic creator Dan Sehn has a third comic in this latest ThunderZone Kickstarter, Weirdo #1
1st: Who is Trent Anderson?
Dan Sehn: Trent is a teenager living in Denver, Colorado. He is in that uncertain period of nearing high school graduation and the uncertainty of young adulthood. Fate steps I, though, during our flashback to Weirdo’s origin.
1st: How did Trent Anderson get his powers?
Dan: With his dimension-hopping abilities, I don’t dare reveal that, as he might seek retribution for spoiling his comic.
1st: Why does he call himself Weirdo?
Dan: Although his mind has been slightly altered in becoming the Weirdo, Trent retains enough self-awareness to recognize what he has become.
1st: Does he live in a zombie apocalypse?
Dan: No, that is just a one-off local event he is dealing with in issue 1. It is not a large outbreak.
1st: What’s it like working with Eduardo Vienna?
Dan: Eduardo is great! This was in fact completed prior to Thunder Guard which Eduardo drew as well but parts of Weirdo’s story was serialized in Antarctic Press’ Exciting Comics so that is why this release follows that one on Kickstarter. Eduardo is a skilled artist so I always look forward to his next page coming in.
1st: Who do you have lined up as cover artists on Weirdo #1?
Dan: We have Eduardo doing the main cover which really captured the mood well. Jardel Cruz provided a superb McFarlane Spider-Man #1 homage. We just reached our Stretch Goal for a painted cover by Alexandre Nascimento which homages my favorite sitcom. We also have a tier for those wanting to co-star on a cover with Weirdo where people can submit their own weird character.
1st: What is the URL for the campaign?
Dan: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/dansehn/thunderzone-comics-strikes-back
1st: What is the minimum price for a digital copy?
Dan: $6
1st: What is the minimum price for a print copy?
Dan: $12
1st: What makes Weirdo so cool that no true fan should miss it?
Dan: Weirdo is just plain zany fun, and in today’s world, it’s something we can use. He has a way about him. I don’t know what it is, but I know that comic fans can’t live without him.
