Dan Sehn talks about WEIRDO #2

My longtime friend and fellow indie comic creator Dan Sehn has a third comic in this latest ThunderZone Kickstarter, Weirdo #1

First Comics News: For new readers, who is Weirdo?

Dan Sehn: Trent Anderson of Denver, Colorado, is a teenager like no other. He is the Weirdo! As Trent nears high school graduation and the uncertainty of young adulthood, fate steps in, and his life will never be the same. With the powers of teleportation, levitation, his trusty combat yo-yo, and a somewhat unpredictable ability to bend reality, Weirdo is not your average superhero.

There is almost a Looney Tunes flavor with him that I think shines through in this issue.

1^st: Have you need to have read Weirdo #1?

Dan: No, both issues are standalone stories that can be read on their own.

1^st: Can you get Weirdo #1 in this campaign?

Dan: Yes, we have an “any back issue” aadd-onthat allows you to get any past Thunderzone release.

1^st: Where does Weirdo find himself in this issue?

Dan: As much of last issue was an origin flashback mixed into an adventure, this is a full issue story, and as the cover and preview allude to, we are introduced to the Weirdomobile.

1^st: Were any new characters introduced in this issue? Tell us about them.

Dan: We do have a new villain in this issue,e and all I’ll say is that I do try for original ideas for powers, so there are a couple of unexpected twists for readers.

1^st: How has Weirdo evolved since issue 1?

Dan: There is some tragedy tied to his origin, and I think we see Weirdo deflecting from that with humor. Trent’s brain was altered a bit in the process, which made him Weird,o so we’ll have to see how his sanity holds up in the long run.

1^st: How does Weirdo stand out in the indie comics landscape?

Dan: Weirdo is a bit more zany and madcap than your typical comic book fare.

1^st: How many issues are in the first arc?

Dan: Issues 1 and 2 are both single-issue stories. Many of my favorite comics over the years have been one-shots, so I like keeping that format alive.
