100% of signature proceeds from local signing benefit Pasadena Community Foundation’s Eaton Fire Relief and Recovery Fund
PASADENA, CA — October 27, 2025 — On Saturday, October 25, fans from across California lined up outside P Dot’s Comics & Collectibles in Pasadena to give back to a recovering community —and to meet legendary comic book creator Todd McFarlane. The special one-day signing event brought together thousands of fans and residents in support of those impacted by the recent Eaton Fire, which devastated Altadena and parts of the Pasadena area earlier this year.
Through ticket sales for McFarlane’s autograph, the event raised an impressive $25,000, with 100% of proceeds donated directly to the Pasadena Community Foundation’s Eaton Fire and Relief Recovery Fund.
Todd McFarlane, who lives in the Pasadena area with his family, witnessed the destruction personally. “So many fans from the Los Angeles area (and beyond) showed how giving they are as each of them donated to a relief fund that has been helping so many of those affected by the Eaton fires. I was in Altadena the night the fire broke out and saw firsthand the magnitude of what families and first responders had to deal with. Generational loss occurred as an entire community was nearly wiped out. We all hope that the small efforts we make can have a big impact on those less fortunate than ourselves.” – Todd McFarlane
The signing, hosted by P Dot’s Comics & Collectibles, was made possible through the support of shop owner Lawrence Persky, whose commitment to the local community helped bring fans and neighbors together for a worthy cause.

The signing also marked McFarlane’s first in-store signing in the United States in nearly 14 years, organized exclusively to raise relief funds for those affected by the Eaton Fire. McFarlane shared that he hopes to continue finding ways to give back—whether through future signings or other community efforts that help Altadena recover and rebuild together.
The fan’s generosity feeds directly into the work of the Pasadena Community Foundation, whose Eaton Fire Relief and Recovery Fund supports nonprofits that are helping people in the Greater Pasadena area (Pasadena, Altadena, and Sierra Madre) who were affected by the Eaton Fire to recover and rebuild. Impacted by the fires, focusing on both immediate relief and long-term community rebuilding initiatives. As of July 2025, the Foundation has raised $76 million, disbursed nearly $14 million to more than 60 nonprofit partners addressing urgent needs, and committed $56 million to long-term housing recovery in Altadena through the establishment of the Altadena Builds Back Foundation.

The event also coincided with the release of KING SPAWN #50, a landmark issue in the comic series that hit shelves nationwide on October 22. Fans came out not only to support the Pasadena community, but also to celebrate the milestone issue alongside McFarlane—a creator whose career has inspired generations of comic book fans around the world.
