Brother Bones Origin 01

BROTHER BONES – THE UNDEAD AVENGER

Cape Noire, is a seedy, fast-growing metropolis on the Northwest coast ruled over by gangland mobs and home to every human vice known to mankind. Into this cesspool of a post World War depression an unholy avenger is born from that very fabric of corruption. Directed by the Fates, Tommy Bonello, a one-time mob hitman, has returned from the land of the dead to make atonement for his sins. A bone white skull mask hides his rotting facing as the walks the back-alleys, armed with his twin .45 automatics, seeking vengeance for the innocent.

Based on comic and pulps writer Ron Fortier’s best-selling series of paperback adventures, of which there have been five including several comic book one shots. Brother Bones is a bombastic homage to the bloody pulps of the 1930s and 40s but with an added element of horror. Fortier’s Cape Noire is inhabited by some of the most gruesome and colorful characters ever invented, from Prof. Bugosi, the mad scientist, to Harry Beest, the gorilla mobster. Here in glorious black and white, artist Joseph Arnold for the first time ever, retells the action-packed origin story of the Undead Avenger in a powerful graphic novel experience.

This Project

This origin comic of Brother Bones is intended to be part one of four, and to be released as a trade paperback when the full collection is completed. Each book is cut from an initial screenplay written by Ron Fortier, and adapted to comic form.  Joseph Arnold has illustrated and rendered in grayscale the exciting beginning of this story of violence and redemption which will create a supernatural pulp vigilante dealing justice and punishing wrongdoers. Issue one is intended to be 33 pages, plus a 6 page mini story of Brother Bones also written by Ron Fortier and beautifully illustrated by Rob Davis (plus a bonus page to round the project out at 40 pages).
