Boston Metaphysical Society Comic Nabs Project We Love For Crowdfunding Campaign of First Hardback Edition of Volume 1

BURBANK, CA. Madeleine Holly-Rosing, writer/creator of the graphic novel series Boston Metaphysical Society announced the launch of her campaign to fund the printing of the first ever hardback edition of volume one. With extras like pin art, prototype steampunk weapons designs, and an exclusive ten page bonus story with art by MJ Erickson, the volume will come in at 164 pages. “Fans have been pestering me for years to produce a hardback, so I finally bowed to their will. And I’m happy to announce we received a ‘Project We Love’ from Kickstarter right out of the gate,” commented Ms. Holly-Rosing.

This special limited edition will feature a cover by Rebekah Isaacs (Brzrkr Fallen Empire, Angel & Faith, Money Shot, Buffy the Vampire Slayer) on both the hardcover and softcover versions.  “Rebekah did an outstanding job on capturing the characters,” remarked Ms. Holly-Rosing. “I hope we do well enough to add spot UV and foil stamping to further enhance the book.”

Ms. Holly-Rosing brings her background of TV and feature film writing to the world of comics along with a love of history and science fiction. The comic began online ten years ago and went to print with a special twenty-four page edition a year later. The original series received an Honorable Mention at the 2013 Geekie Awards and was nominated for Best Comic/Graphic Novel in 2014. It was also consistently nominated for best webcomic by the Steampunk Chronicles Readers’ Choice Awards in 2013, 2014 and 2015. In 2019, Source Point Press re-published the original six issue mini-series and the subsequent four sequels in 2020/21.

A veteran of crowdfunding, Ms. Holly-Rosing has successfully funded her entire graphic novel series on Kickstarter along with her first ever audio drama, The Ghost Ship. This new campaign will include limited edition “Special Detective” metal business cards in brass, copper, and black finish as well as the audio drama on a new flash drive.

The Boston Metaphysical Society: Mystery at Pikes Peak campaign will end on April 17 and has a funding goal of $10,000. For more information, please visit the Kickstarter Homepage or
