[Barbourville, KY] — [August 21, 2026] — Blue Moon Comics Group is proud to announce the release of Diversions #25. This special 72-page issue will feature seven new stories, introduce four new heroes, and include a previously unpublished 30-year-old Arthur Conan Doyle adaptation by Mark Ellis and Darryl Banks.
“An Independent publisher reaching twenty-five issues of any type of comic is special,” Publisher Lloyd Smith was quoted as saying, “but reaching the twenty-fifth issue of an anthology is especially gratifying.”
To celebrate, Blue Moon has expanded Diversions #25’s page count to 72 full-color pages, and is filling those pages with stories featuring super-heroes, sword and sorcery, science fiction, and horror/mystery all done in the “21st Century Bronze Age Style” fans have come to know and expect from the “Spinner-Rack Between Two Covers.”
Four new characters make their debuts in Diversions #25: science fiction themed super-hero Luminary (by Lloyd Smith and JW Erwin), Shin-Yu Master of the Martial Arts, and the street-level super-hero Watchdog (both by Smith and Egyptian artist Hany Khattab), and undersea super-hero Nepthor (by Dana Black). Blue Moon is also be excited about the formation of a possible new super-hero team for the Blue Moon Universe written and illustrated by Dana Black.
Mark Ellis and Darryl Banks’ work at Millennium Comics back in the 1990s is well-remembered by much of fandom, so Blue Moon is delighted to present a classic collaboration by that talented duo in which they adapted Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s horror story “Lot No. 240.”
Smith reteams with Australian artist Marcello Rosmini for a new Kragor the Savage sword and sorcery adventure pitting him against vampiric creatures from another world.
Smith and Black also collaborated on two new “Snazzy Snak Cakes” faux ads starring super-speedster Mercury in one and the mysterious, vengeful Midnight Stranger in the other.
The rest of the issue is filled with “faux” trading cards illustrated by JW Erwin and pin-ups by Steven Butler & Quinton Bedwell, Mike W. Belcher, and Philip Fried.
Blue Moon Comics Group is offering the choice of four different covers for Diversions #25: Luminary by JW Erwin with colors by Matt Webb; “United” featuring a group of Blue Moon superheroes by Dana Black; “U.S.A.” by Steven Butler and Quinton J. Bedwell; and a special “crossover cover” featuring Luminary “teaming” with G-Man Comics’ Sgt. Flag by Gilbert Monsanto
Blue Moon Comics Group is taking pre-orders for Diversions #25 through the Blue Moon Comics Group Ko-fi Shop (https://ko-fi.com/bluemooncomicsgroup/shop) now through August 31. Digital copies of Diversions #25 will go on sale September 16 at DriveThruComics and GlobalComix. The comic will be released in print through IndyPlanet in late 2026/early 2027.
