Welcome back to the hunt. Even though the convention scene has died down a bit it was good hunting in April. I’ll show some of my favorites along with homages I’m on the trail for the upcoming months. This weekend is FCBD which only has 1 homage (that I saw) but still go to your LCS and partake in the good times. Remember the books are free for us but the store pays for them so support your LCS and take advantage of the sales/deals that day and buy some books. I’ll be headed to Now or Never comics in downtown San Diego. Hunters and Huntresses keep searching the web, socials and comic book racks you never know what homage cover you’ll get lined up in your crosshairs.

Mad Cave Studios -“Pop Kill #1” cover by Josh Burns/ Homage to the original Coppertone Girl painted by Joyce Ballantyne, an American pin‑up and commercial artist. The model for the painting was her own three‑year‑old daughter

My “10-Point Buck of the Month” is Tyler Kirkham’s “Final Boss #7″/ Homage to Nick Dragotta’s “Absolute Batman #1.” This is the hot book to homage, but Kirkham’s is like “hold my beer” as he knocks his homage out the park. There is a B&W version and a version with colorized Tommy and B&W background. I asked Tyler, “Why did you choose Nick Dragotta’s “Absolute Batman #1” to homage Kirkham said “There is no significance to the story or anything. I saw others do it and I thought it was a fun idea. It’s become a very recognizable cover at this point so thought it would be fun for collectors”
