| The Dark Knight Returns On Zoop for it’s 40th Anniversary
July 21st, 2026, (LOS ANGELES, CA) — Today begins the official 40th Anniversary Celebration of the release of the seminal Batman story, The Dark Knight Returns. In 2016, Graphitti Designs, under license from DC Comics, released the definitive presentation of Frank Miller and Klaus Janson’s original artwork in their BATMAN: THE DARK KNIGHT RETURNS Gallery Edition. To celebrate the 40th Anniversary of the release of the series, two additional never-before-reproduced-in-this-format pages are being offered in this special limited-edition package exclusively available on the Zoop crowdfunding platform.
The campaign is limited to only 500 sequentially numbered packets and packaged together with the previously-released Variant Edition book. It is a one-of-a-kind opportunity to receive full-size prints of these incredible newly-discovered masterpieces by Frank Miller Klaus Janson and Lynn Varley.
There is also an exclusive EARLY BIRD SPECIAL. The FIRST 50 supporters to get the DKR 40th Commemorative Book with Packet will each receive a raw uncut 16-page full color interior section that was printed back in 1986 for use in the Dark Knight books!
This new limited-edition release includes:
• Two stunning new prints, including the classic spread from Issue #1 page 26, and a replica of the landmark color cover art for DKR #2. Dimensions: 12.75” x 19.75”, printed on heavy 160 gsm acid-free paper stock that matches the paper used in the book.
• Sequentially numbered authentication certificate.
• All three elements are polybagged together.
Graphitti Designs Gallery Editions books are sourced from the original art and reproduced at actual size (13” x 20”) and in full-color, accurately replicating the look and feel of the original art. High-resolution scans are then printed on heavy paper stock so the details (including white out, pencil line…and coffee stains) are all memorialized to capture the look and feel of the coveted original art.
