New Pulp premiere authors Win Scott Eckert and Frank Schildiner  discussed their upcoming novels published by Meteor House Press.

It’s Always Darkest by Frank Schildiner

This story is set in the Empire of the Nine Universe in the 1970 and involves a a “side story” about another heroic character who became a Candidate of the Nine and how he responds to the revolt of Lord Grandrith and Doc Caliban.  This is an homage to the Men’s Adventure stories of the 70s and 80s.  It should a run ride!

The Monster on Hold by Philip José Farmer and Win Scott Eckert

We have been waiting for this novel since Phil Farmer announced it back in 1983.  Win Eckert has taken several fragments from Phil’s “Magic Filing Cabinet”  and is fleshing out the story using them while following  Phil’s original outline.  Meanwhile, Win has added elements from other stories from Phil and others which he lists in the podcast) with the intention of also speculating about unanswered questions in those works (including Up Earth’s Center.  I have been waiting for almost 40 years for this story and I am so excited about its up coming publication.

We also discussed Win’s novel Tarzan: The Battle for Pellucidar which can be obtained on Amazon or directly from

There is a third book coming from Meteor House this year:

The Man Who Met Tarzan by Philip José Farmer which we will review on another show with the Meteor House people.  Stay tuned!

These books will be the MUST READS for PJF fans and Pulp fans this year.  They can be ordered from Meteor House Press at the address below.
