A Look at the ‘Riftbound’ Viktor & Lee Sin Champion Decks

Riot Games has rolled out their new trading card game (TCG), Riftbound. Riftbound is an action-packed TCG that centers around strategy and dynamic movement between battlefields and the player’s home base. The game blends lore from the vibrant world of the Legends of Runeterra universe, showcasing iconic and beloved champions that players can utilize in their decks.

Origins is the first set to Riftbound and allows players to learn how to build strategies around their favorite champions, understand the game mechanics, and prepare for future expansions. This set also features highly sought-after alternative art cards, stunning borderless designs, and rare collectibles.

Each champion in Riftbound is equipped with a unique power, a dedicated champion unit, a signature spell, and a specific color combination. Players will have a Legend alongside a matching champion to utilize powerful abilities. The combination of their two rune identities will form the foundation of their deck, offering diverse options for playing their favorite champions.

Champion Decks are ready-to-play decks that make getting into Riftbound fast and easy. Here is our first look at the Champion Decks for Viktor and Lee Sin.

The Herald of the Arcane

“Embrace Progress”

Viktor – Herald of the Arcane allows players to play low-might units nearly every turn, while other cards in the deck will help amp up their might to make them more dangerous.

This Mind and Order Champion Deck centers around strategy and utilizing Viktor’s Recruits. It includes:

  • Ready-to-play deck featuring Viktor as the Legend for this 40-card deck
  • 12 Rune cards
  • 3 Battlefields
  • x1 Booser pack
  • A paper playmat and instructions

Viktor’s Legend card has the ability to pay 1 Rune to play 1 Recruit to the player’s base or already obtained battlefield. The more units occupying a battlefield, the stronger and more difficult it will be for opponents to conquer it. The Viktor – Leader also allows the player to play another 1 Recruit unit to their base whenever a non-Recruit unit they control dies.

The Battlefields include abilities that power up units, spawn more recruits, and even give the player a chance to win the game.

The Blind Monk

“Your will, my hands”

Lee Sin – Blind Monk allows players to buff up their units for a low cost of 1 Rune. This ability unlocks a great strategy to buff units and unlock additional abilities.

This Calm and Body Champion Deck centers around buffing player unit cards and utilizing heavy-hitting attacks. It includes:

  • Ready-to-play deck featuring Lee Sin as the Legend for this 40-card deck
  • 12 Rune cards
  • 3 Battlefields
  • x1 Booser pack
  • A paper playmat and instructions

As a Champion Unit, Lee Sin – Centered has the Accelerate condition, which requires 1 Rune to have him ready the moment he is placed on the game mat. The Ionian monk pairs well with the battlefields included in this deck, giving the player opportunities to obtain Runes and draw cards for conquering and holding Battlefields.

Card sleeves and Booster Sets are also available with this release. The set features 298 cards, including adorable Poro cards, for players looking to create a Poro-themed deck.

Riftbound: Origins launched as a foundational cornerstone for the game. Because of this, Origins is a bit less themed overall, but there is promise around certain themes for future sets. Riot aims to ensure that Origins serves as an inviting gateway for newcomers, setting the stage for a lasting and dynamic future for the game.
