LOS ANGELES 10/06/2026 — Today Scott Dunbier’s Act 4 Publishing, in partnership with Skybound, announced the upcoming release of Marvel Heroes by Gene Colan Artist’s Edition. A gorgeous, oversized presentation of Gene Colan’s acclaimed Marvel Comics work including several complete stories and a wide range of some of his most fondly remembered works, including Captain America, Daredevil, Doctor Strange, and Howard the Duck. This Artist’s Edition arrives in comic shops on April 7, 2027.
Presented in a massive 12”x17” format and spanning 176 pages, this Artist’s Edition collects covers by Gene Colan as well as stories written by Stan Lee, Gerry Conway & Roy Thomas with all pencils done by Gene Colan and inks by Bill Everett, Tom Palmer, Joe Sinnott, and others.
Marvel Heroes by Gene Colan Artist’s Editionwill also present three complete stories: Captain America #137, Daredevil #63, andTales of Suspense #97 featuring Iron Man.Gene Colan was one of the most prolific and popular Marvel artists of the 1960s and ‘70s. An Artist’s Edition is an art book disguised as a comic collection. Although appearing to be in black and white, all the art is scanned in color, enabling the reader to see the work as close to the original as possible – ink gradients, blue pencil, and all the unique nuances that make original art so special – are all clearly visible and printed at the same size as drawn.
