The Rubik’s Club is illustrated in a close-up full of detail, and the cube resonates with an energy that chills the soul.
A man is conducting a podcast with an old man. During the interview, the old man grows upset, and his niece does as well. The interview takes a turn that is sure to surprise the reader—not just surprise, but totally blow you away.
Mr. Barrow tortures people to learn about the Cenobites for his employer. That employer actually wants to summon a Cenobite. Neither of these men is entirely sane. The employer has a plan, and as you read, you can see how foolish he is, even though he seems so sure of himself.
The story then takes a different tangent from what you are led to believe. Who is the demon we see, and what are his objectives? The story needed more explanation—the who and why would have been welcome.
The demon shown does carry an atmosphere that declares terror is here.
