PROCEEDS FROM THE 25TH ANNIVERSARY ARTWORK TO BENEFIT VETERANS
Billy Tucci’s 2001 poignant illustration, now issued as a special 25th Anniversary Memorial Print benefiting the American Legion, captures the weight and the will of September 11 with unflinching honesty. A lone FDNY firefighter stands amid twisted stee, his weathered face set in grim resolve as a tattered American flag defiantly still flies.

A.W. “Smokey” Linn’s Fireman’s Prayer is lettered in full—an appeal for strength to save lives of every age, for alertness in the smoke, and for God’s protection of family should the firefighter himself fall.

Tucci’s art is somber in its wreckage and its weary hero, yet powerful in the unbowed stance, the surviving flag, and the prayer’s quiet vow to forever answer the call.

Twenty-five years later the print remains both memorial and statement: the victims are remembered, the heroes’ duty endures, and honors that same spirit of service through our veterans and current warfighters.

Each print measures 11” X 17” and ships flat in polymer protective sleeve and heavy cardboard envelope. Portions of all proceeds will be donated to the local American Legion.

MORE REWARDS ON THE WAY!
Crusade Comics has mailed out the first 500 orders for their hugely successful, Ran: Revenge of the Warrior #1 graphic novels and rewards. The 56-page flipbook marks the debut issue of the character that inspired writer/artist Billy Tucci’s Shi and also features the debut of another fresh character, Mortuary Michelle. Ran: Revenge of the Warrior #1/Mortuary Michelle: Spectral Awakening #0 was initially offered on crowdfunding platform’s Indiegogo and Kickstarter and garnered an astonishing $160,000.00 in total returns.

“I am thrilled to announce that the hundreds of Ran/Mortuary Michelle books have shipped out!” Stated Tucci. After a serious delay to our Stretch Goals (due to a tragic health incident that happened to our printer), all Stretch Goals arrived last week, and Deborah (Tucci, Crusade Comics’ Executive Director) and crew have worked long hours over the holiday weekend to pack up, label and ready our first batch of books to be delivered to you!”

Tucci continued, “Again, everyone here at Crusade appreciates all our backers continued support. You are simply the best friends and partners in the entire comics industry! We will continue fulfilling all 1,700 rewards until completion. Now, it’s back to readying another shipment to go out this week!”
SHI: SENRYAKU’S HISTORIC ZOOP CAMPAIGN COMES TO A SUCCESSFUL CLOSE!

#WeAreZoop!

A NOTE FROM BILLY TUCCI:

Dear Backer!

A huge thank you to each one of you for supporting our very first (and delightfully short) Zoop campaign! Your faith has surpassed all our expectations. We came in just $64.00 shy of an amazing total of $30,000.00 in just 21 days! I’ve already received some messages from people overnight stating they missed it (sorry it was so short) and is it possible to still pledge… never fear as Deborah is having a meeting with our Zoop partners today to see what the next step is and explore opening a Zoop store on the platform.

All omnibuses that need to be signed, have been and they, along with the unsigned editions are safely at the Zoop warehouse. We’ll pack up all five-trading card stretch goal sets (by Jim Lee, Geof Darrow, Adam Hughes, Jae Lee and Jeff Smith) to send out to Zoop as well (as a sincere token of our appreciation!). We will also format the Shi: Senryaku 30th Anniversary Facsimile Edition next week and get that to our production designer to remaster and ready for press.

We’ll also spend the next weeks packing all merchandise and original artwork to send out and go to press on all Sketch Covers, Lenticular Covers, Blind Bags, and Metal Editions… all the while I’ll be hard at work drawing covers and title pages!

Once again, Deb and I are simply astonished and humbled by you all. Working with Zoop is a privilege and we cannot wait to fulfill Shi: Senryaku and launch our next campaign!
