IN FLARE ADVENTURES #32:
FLARE TAKES ON THE AWESOME THREAT OF MICKZILLA!
Flare Adventures is the comic book in which we take a step back into the history of comics’ shining goddess of light, and reveal both classic and previously untold tales from out of Flare’s past. In the 32nd issue of Flare Adventures, we find out what happened between the second and third issues of the Tigress comic book, when Flare and Lady Arcane were in Los Angeles pursuing Flare’s modeling career.
It seems that ICICLE is in town! Her brother Icestar wants her to go to college, so she’s checking out Caltech as a possibility. And when she pops in for a surprise visit, while Lady Arcane is dealing with the Tigress, Flare decides to take Icicle to Sidneyland, and regales her with the tale of how the amusement park was once threatened by the awesome power of MICKZILLA!
This 28-page story, by writer Dennis Mallonee and artist Dell Barras, has been in the queue for a very long time. The Mark Propst cover you can see just below was drawn ages ago. Now, at last, the tale is complete, with color work by Giuseppe Pica and letters by Dick O’Malley.
And there will be a second story in this issue, written by Dennis Mallonee, drawn by Gordon Purcell and Terry Pallot, featuring the origin of Flare’s arch-frenemy, Nikki Caldwell, aka Lady Darkon.
PLUS, with Christmas fast approaching, Flare takes a moment to visit the local children’s hospital to give the children a reading of “The Christmas Story,” by Dennis Mallonee and Tim Burgard.
