Comments: D4 is a tough superhero team. Ethan, a young boy, is a huge fan of the group. The team is made up of Dale, Jake, Elijah, and Z.
Years later, Ethan runs into D4 as they battle a villain named Trace, who is determined to kill all superheroes. The fight becomes intense. The black-and-white artwork delivers strong action poses and expressive facial expressions.
Ethan’s father tells him a story about Turlough, a warrior from another planet. The art depicts Turlough in exciting battles, using his sword to slay many enemies. Ethan then receives news that excites him greatly—something he has been hoping for.
Later, Ethan discovers even more about his heritage, and it feels like a dream come true. He looks incredible in his new suit of armor.
D4 soon finds itself fighting a spiky villain who is drawn as tough—and proves to be just as tough. Z, in particular, is featured in a few nicely illustrated butt shots during the fight. Spoke gives D4 all they can handle until Ethan joins the battle and takes over. Things do not turn out exactly as Ethan had hoped. He may be the most powerful of them all, and that power causes him serious trouble. D4 is not who—or what—he believed them to be.
A proofreader was definitely needed here, as there are noticeable grammar issues.
Ethan then faces a full-scale alien invasion, including gifted aliens with superpowers of their own. Two of these gifted aliens engage Ethan in a brutal, knock-down, drag-out fight.
Some questions are left unanswered. The excitement and build-up will leave you wanting more, and the ending lands with a stunned shock.
