On the way to pick up Captain Kirk and Science Officer Spock from a peace conference, U.S.S. Enterprise chief engineer Montgomery Scott in temporary command of the ship faces mounting difficulty on his way to the rendezvous – in the form of a menacing alien ship.

In honor of the 100th Anniversary of the birth of late STAR TREK actor James Doohan, I have created this episode which prominently features the character of Lieutenant Commander Montgomery “Scotty” Scott.

This film entitled “The Quintain” was written, directed, animated and produced by Curt Danhauser and is the third new animated STAR TREK episode featuring Captain Kirk and his crew to be produced in more than four decades. The last new official animated STAR TREK episode was produced by Filmation and aired on NBC-TV Saturday morning, October 12, 1974. Now, after more than 45 years, new episodes are being produced. These new episodes are intended to be a direct continuation of the 22-episode animated STAR TREK series produced by Filmation Associates from 1973-1974.
