I’ll look at “G-Man 3In1 # 3” from G-Man Comics. The third issue of this anthology series features three stories written by Rik Offenberger and while I’m doing my best not to geek out, I have to say that he pulled out all the stops for his stories as he and his various creative teams continue to build an exciting world for their amazing characters in the G-Man Universe.

The first story stars Atomic Bombshell teaming up with Sister Flag and Mummy Girl in a story that feels so much like a heroic version of “Rough Night” (And yes, I think that Sister Flag can definitely be played by Scarlett Johansson- Just Saying!) that sees them in a more fun and uplifting way to where they’re not facing any world-threats or the typical villain set on domination, just having a night out and building some solid friendships which is the basis for this story. The second story features Sgt. Flag protecting a civilian so that he can testify to a crime he witnessed; Finally, Offenberger teams with Joshua 1:9 Holley for a story that features Kid Terror and Agent Squires out on patrol.
These three stories are just fun in their own way due to Offenberger not stretching himself thin which is a joy because he has a gift that many writers possess, and that is him elevating any character within his story whenever it’s bringing the action like the Sgt. Flag story (I do like the witness being named “Tom Ragland” who is the brother of penciler Bobby Ragland) and once again bringing new life to the buddy cop genre with Kid Terror and Agent Squire, his respect for the G-Man Universe is so genuine it’s like he’s this generation’s Stan Lee and I think that’s a fair statement to make since he’s basically building a universe full of heroes that anyone can look up to.

G-Man 3In1 is the type of anthology series that can feature heroes not in their own titles but being written and drawn by some of the best creative minds who are ready to take over the comics industry and I have to say, it’s the modern-day companion to “Marvel Comics Presents” but only more daring yet lighthearted in its storytelling. You can’t ask for more than that.

Well, that’s it for me this week. Thanks for sticking around and I will see you all next time.
