Bodé Art and Tech on Deck at the Silicon Valley Comic Con! Plus, come see his new Augmented Reality Cobalt 60 Mural in Clarion Alley!
SAN FRANCISCO, Cal., April 15, 2017 — Attention, Bay Area Mutants! Mark Bodé (Cobalt 60, TMNT) will be at the Silicon Valley Comic Con all three days next weekend, April 21-23. He will be showing off all the new art & animation for the COBALT 60 CHRONICLES, his new AR Comic, and a few other surprises, as well… So, come on down and have a peep!
In related news… Back in 2012, Bodé teamed up with James O’Barr (The Crow) to paint a mural in the street art epicenter Clarion Alley, located in the Mission District. It stayed untarnished for years, but last fall, it got trashed. Once the first defacing occurred, the artwork was considered fair game, and over time, many others covered it further.
Mark decided to replace the ruined piece with a scene from Cobalt 60 Chronicles, his new augmented reality comic book. To showcase the technology, Bode and Secret File Animation have produced a free 3D app that allows you to bring the mural to life! Simply download the free app, visit Clarion Alley, and point your device at the mural. Instantly, the art comes to life with animation and music! That’s right… The entire mural scene comes to life in 3D, right on your phone or tablet, right there in alley! Available now for Android, coming soon for iOS.
