Acky Bright is the visionary Japanese manga artist and illustrator, whose distinctive style was the driving creative force behind the acclaimed character designs, artwork, and storytelling of McDonald’s global WcDonald’s campaign and celebrated partnerships with BMW, Lexus, Hasbro, Red Bull, and Meta. He now brings his signature kawakakkoii style to COURIER debuting at New York Comic Con.

Heavily influenced by both manga masters like AkiraToriyama (DRAGONBALL) and Katsuhiro Otomo(AKIRA), and the kinetic energy of American comics, Acky Bright, in true art brut fashion, is a self-taught force of nature. His daring linework and explosive imagination quickly made him a social media phenom and caught the attention of some of the world’s biggest brands. Beginning with a collaboration with Hasbro, where he art-directed apparel featuring the Transformers, Bright has since expanded his reach to everything from Squid Gameto professional racing. Today, he stands among the most prominent Japanese illustrators expanding their creative presence in North America, with artwork that has graced magazine covers and headlined live events and solo exhibitions across the globe.

“I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to collaborate with one of the hottest publishers right now, BAD IDEA, combining the stories crafted by writer Robert Venditti with the worlds I create,” said Acky Bright.

“I want to make comics that will surprise everyone, something no one has ever seen before—that’s what I’m aiming for.”
