Comments: Recluse and Jenny have an offer from Dracula and his friends: join them to save the world or let it perish. Recluse is focused.
A man now has the ability to raise the dead.
Dracula has a plan to capture Dr. West. A vampire, golem, werewolf, gorgon, and priest are teaming up to save the world. But what of Recluse? Where is he while all this is going on? The story leaves you wondering.
Dracula’s team finds Dr. West, and there is a lovely pose featuring all the monsters and the priest. Dracula is designed to look more like a superhero here than a figure of horror. He does not inspire the terror one usually associates with him. Dr. West now has a cunning appearance, and the book he carries offers him power. This ordinary human can stand against monsters. Jenny, in her werewolf form, is posed in a sexualized butt shot.
Meanwhile, Recluse is busy with Looney Ben and Insane Jane.
Dr. West is a thinking villain and one who adapts and uses his knowledge. The scenes of battle in the museum are a mess of destructive beauty. Where else but here could you see a golem and a skeletal T-Rex battle? Just when you thought you had seen everything, the golem proves to be full of surprises.
This issue is just full of surprises, and it sets things up nicely for the coming issues.
