The Comics Art Legend Returns to Zoop
SEPTEMBER 16th, 2026 – 8amPST, (LOS ANGELES, CA) — The legendary artist, Dave Dorman is back on the Zoop crowdfunding platform. Today marks the launch of Volume 2 of Dorman’s Oil & Water series of hardcover art books. The first volume was successfully funded on Zoop, bringing Dave back for the second installment of the series.
This is the second in a series of high quality self-curated art collections featuring Dorman’s work from over 40 years as a painter in the Fantastic Illustration field. The art will include both major and minor pieces from his vast involvement of many comics, toys, books, movies, and games projects including Star Wars, Aliens, Batman, Magic the Gathering, GI Joe, and many more — most shown here for the first time uncluttered by logos and uncropped. It will also include many unpublished personal pieces he has created for himself over the years.
Oil & Water Volume 2 will follow the format of the previous volume, as an 8.5x 11 hardcover showcasing Dorman’s work. Not only will there be continuity of Dorman’s art within the pages, but the exteriors will look good together on any bookshelf.
Fans will be treated to the opportunity for signed editions, and even remarqued editions, which sold out completely on the previous campaign. There will be premium original paintings available as well. Fans are encouraged to pledge early in order to get first dibs on any limited rewards.
