Comments: Sabrina has just recently learned that she is a half-witch. The art is cute, and Sabrina looks adorable dressed up as a witch. Now she finds herself dealing with a strange creature that looks like a cross between a rat and a human.
Sabrina is learning what it means to be a witch. As a new witch, she doesn’t fully understand the consequences of her inaction. She quickly learns, however, that sometimes she has to be the one to step up and act. Sabrina is upset by what happens, but she is still very new to being a witch.
One thing I would have liked to see explained is how and when Sabrina discovered she was a witch. That information would fit nicely into the story and would give readers a better understanding of where Sabrina is coming from.
Unfortunately, the story doesn’t have a lot to it. There isn’t much character development or action. It is hinted that Sabrina may be more than just another witch, which could be interesting going forward. Sabrina does use some magic in these pages, but there isn’t nearly enough of it.
Yes, Sabrina is cute, and she looks amazing in her striped nylons. The aunts are barely seen, and while Sabrina is certainly the focus, her character feels a little bland here.
Sabrina needs to have more fun. She is much too serious throughout this story. Her character needs to relax and enjoy being a witch. I would also like to see her casting more spells and getting into more magical trouble.
Sabrina is a teenage witch with plenty of potential to provide readers with some magical fun. Hopefully, future stories will let her personality—and her powers—shine a little more.
