BAD IDEA is proud to announce that four-time Oscar nominee and Grammy and Emmy winner Danny Elfman, the legendary composer behind BATMAN, BEETLEJUICE, EDWARD SCISSORHANDS, SPIDER-MAN and THE NIGHTMARE BEFORE CHRISTMAS,has joined the star-studded voice cast of IT DEMANDS SACRIFICE: RECORD READ-A-LONG, the vinyl companion to the upcoming horror series IT DEMANDS SACRIFICE by Philip Gelatt (LOVE, DEATH & ROBOTS) and David Yarovesky(BRIGHTBURN).
One of the most distinctive and celebrated composers in film history, Elfman has spent more than four decades creating some of cinema’s most recognizable music. His extraordinary body of work spans virtually every genre, with credits including PEE-WEE’S BIG ADVENTURE, MIDNIGHT RUN, MEN IN BLACK, GOOD WILL HUNTING, MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE and AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON, alongside one of the most enduring director-composer collaborations in Hollywood history with filmmaker Tim Burton. Beyond film, Elfman also created the iconic theme for THE SIMPSONS, as well as the themes for DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES and WEDNESDAY.
Before becoming one of Hollywood’s most celebrated composers, Elfman was the frontman and principal songwriter of Oingo Boingo, the influential new wave band behind songs including “Dead Man’s Party” and “Weird Science.” His work as a performer has continued alongside his composing career, most famously providing the singing voice of Jack Skellington in THE NIGHTMARE BEFORE CHRISTMAS, as well as performing as Bonejangles in CORPSE BRIDE and supplying the singing voices of the Oompa-Loompas in CHARLIE AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY. In recent years, Elfman has also returned to the stage with ambitious live performances of his own music.
Following the announcement that JESSICA JONESstar Krysten Ritter had joined the project, Elfman becomes the latest major addition to a growing voice cast that also features celebrated comic book creators and industry icons Brett Bean (D’ORC), Mike Carey(LUCIFER), Shelly Bond (VERTIGO), Tomás Giorello(PLANET DEATH) and Jorge Fornés (BATMAN), alongside many more. And Ritter and Elfman are only the first of the record’s major surprise performers to be revealed, with more superstar voices still under wraps and additional cast announcements coming in the days ahead.
