SAN DIEGO, MONDAY, JULY 27, 2026 – For this year’s San Diego Comic-Con, excited film and television fans dove into the world of entertainment at Impact24 PR’s Panel Superblock Series, the ultimate destination for a behind-the-scenes look at projects like Obsession, Spider-Noir, One Piece, The Boys, and more!
The “Hollywood Game Changers” panel returned for its 7th year at Comic-Con, with a powerhouse of women leading the charge behind entertainment projects and companies! The discussion included stories about building your own lane in the industry and advocating for authentic representation both in front of and behind the camera, all in partnership with the California Post Alliance and MPAC® Hollywood Bureau. The panel featured composer/ artist Alexandra Petkovski, aka FJØRA, (You’re Killing Me), 2X Academy Award Winning Sound Supervisor, Karen Baker Landers, editor Lauren Connelly, ACE (Beef Season 2), Director of MPAC® Hollywood Bureau / screenwriter/ director Najla Zaidi, director/ writer Natasha Mynhier (Aptitude), and composer Shirley Song (XO, Kitty), and was moderated by executive producer and co-founder of Shade TV, Marissa Hill.
Director of MPAC® Hollywood Bureau’s Najla Zaidi took a moment to reflect on the importance of diverse representation onscreen, saying, “When studios take the time to consult with us [Muslim or diverse creatives] what they’re actually doing is elevating the show – because it becomes an accurate reflection. In storytelling, you’re looking for authenticity. Something in our soul is looking for something in their soul, and that fosters understanding across the board. The entire audience can connect to it.”
The 3rd Annual “From Script to Screen” panel gave audiences a behind-the-scenes look at how creatives bring stories to life. The panel featured supervising sound editor and sound designer Andy Sisul (Spider-Noir), costume designer Ariyela Wald-Cohain (Scary Movie 6), composer Daniel Futcher (My Adventures with Superman), supervising sound editor Ethan Beigel, MPSE/ CAS (Spider-Noir), composer Greg Nicolett (Dr. Suess’s “The Sneetches”), and production designer Cabot McMullen (Shrinking, Rooster), and was moderated by writer/ director Chris Rodriguez (Puffing Iron).
Production Designer Cabot McMullen gave insight into how his craft visually reveals details about characters, stating, “A lot of my design is influenced by who these characters are when nobody is watching – what coffee they drink, what type of music they listen to… not just what’s on screen. It all fortifies who the characters are at their core, and therefore my design choices.”
The 3rd Annual “Fan Favorites” panel gave audiences a very special behind-the-scenes look at popular projects like Obsession, Euphoria, One Piece, and more. The panel featured editor Aaron I. Butler, ACE (Euphoria), costume designer Blair James (Obsession), editor Eric Litman, ACE (One Piece), editor Jennifer Barbot, ACE (Spider-Noir), VFX supervisor at Onyx VFX John L. Weckworth (Paradise), and composer Matt Bowen (The Boys), and was moderated by creator Monse (CVNELA).
Costume Designer Blair James detailed how costumes play a pivotal role in storytelling, sharing, “Costumes speak very loudly – they have subconscious or conscious meaning. Color theory, patterns, textures – they help explain the story without having to say it out loud. Costume design done well can really immerse you and make you feel like a fly on the wall.”
