The First-Ever Original Comic One-Shot Starring Din Djarin and Grogu Arrives With an SDCC-Exclusive Variant, Lucasfilm Publishing Panel, and Creator Signing

JULY 24, 2026 (SAN DIEGO, CA) — San Diego Comic-Con 2026 is bringing Din Djarin and Grogu to the convention floor as Mad Cave Studios and Papercutz, in collaboration with Lucasfilm Publishing, bring the Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu—Danger in the Dark SDCC 2026 exclusive variant, featuring a brand-new cover by Michael Walsh. Only 500 copies will be available for $20 each (limit five per person, per day), exclusively at the Mad Cave Studios booth while supplies last. There will also be a special foil edition of Michael Walsh’s cover exclusively at the Mad Cave Studios booth for $25 while supplies last.

The one-shot is the first-ever original comic adventure starring Din Djarin and Grogu, set just before the events of the all-new film Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu. Marking Grogu’s first appearance in a kids’ comic, the all-new story delivers the humor, heart, and high-stakes adventure that have made the pair one of the galaxy’s most beloved duos.

Written by fan-favorite creator Delilah S. Dawson (Star Wars Adventures, Star Wars: Forces of Destiny), with pencils and inks by Arianna Florean (Star Wars Adventures), layouts byMario del Pennino, and covers by Brent Schoonover (Star Wars: Tales From the Outer Rim: The Legend of Beggar’s Canyon), Ramon Rosanas, Juni Ba, and more, the special one-shot also welcomes back the delightfully chaotic Anzellan droidsmiths.

A hidden danger looms deep beneath the surface of Nevarro, and it’s up to the Mandalorian and Grogu to stop it! Joined by a courageous crew of Anzellan friends, Din Djarin and his foundling venture into the lava tubes underneath the city to defuse a crashed pirate ship, facing creepy creatures and perilous obstacles along the way. But with the planet’s safety on the line, can Grogu learn to listen to Mando’s guidance? And can Mando balance teaching Grogu with letting the little guys lead? Don’t miss this high-energy story full of humor and heart!
