Comments: The assassin, the Son of the Tooth, is tracking Conan. The Son of the Tooth learns much about Conan and seems surprised to discover he is just a man. Stalking Conan through a city, the assassin becomes perplexed as he tries to understand him — how Conan is capable of such incredible feats and why he is so feared.
Conan is drawn into battle against four mercenaries, and he becomes a savage unleashed. The fight is gory, and Conan is portrayed as an unchained beast.
The Son of the Tooth is shown following Conan, acting as though Conan is unaware of his presence. The assassin is completely confident in his skills.
The moment these two finally confront each other is grim, gritty, and electrifying, as you can feel the battle about to erupt. As the two prepare to fight, you know it is going to be a bloodbath. There is a strong buildup leading into the coming clash.
Conan is shown as just a man, yet one capable of far more than most men. The way he is illustrated here makes it clear he is both feared and respected. He is a warrior born.
