Prince Salaka, now King Salaka, and the citizens of Fantania are thrilled, and a celebration is in order. At the same time, extensive rebuilding is underway across the planet.
Conquest makes his presence known to Battle Beast. He is illustrated as a being of immense power, and his arrival immediately signals that he is not to be trifled with. Conquest is portrayed as a hardened soldier whose presence commands respect and fear.
There is talk of fighting, but none is shown. The issue instead focuses on Conquest and Battle Beast in conversation, with both established as two of the most powerful beings on the planet. Battle Beast will eventually want to battle him to the death.
Salaka is letting his new position as king go to his head. Although Salaka and Battle Beast are friends, Battle Beast’s unpredictable nature means he may still kill him.
This issue sets the stage for conflict, and you can feel the tension building even though no major fight takes place beyond the brief opening encounter.
Battle Beast himself seems to have mellowed.
