RAN: REVENGE OF THE WARRIOR GRAPHIC NOVEL!
1993, Ran is everything Tucci always wanted to do with Shi but never dared. In all its 1990’s Bad Girl glory, Ran introduces the world to the character who started it all in this 48-page story of vengeance set within Tokyo’s neon licked rain-slick streets stained with blood split by the Yakuza.
RAN: REVENGE OF THE WARRIOR
Ran: Revenge of the Warrior HC Edition Cover by Billy Tucci & Wes Hartman
Tokyo, 1993.
Neon danced over the rain-slick streets like electric ghosts, casting red and blue veins through the fog. In the underworld’s bloodstream, heroin and horror flowed freely. The Sumo-Kai Yakuza clan of the Yakuza tightened their grip on the city’s Kabukichō district, but behind the veil of tattoos and honor codes, something foreign had festered…
THE WOLF.
Barry Michael Wolf, 52. Scarred Vietnam veteran who rides a chopped Harley through Kabukichō like it was a jungle trail, a caravan of ex-pat killers and degenerates flanking him— American biker veterans displaced by war, bound by blood, and now deeply rooted in trafficking white powder and impoverished young girls from across Southeast Asia.
The Wolf followed no Bushidō and showed no mercy. Not that it mattered. With a blood oath of loyalty to the Sumo-Kai and vast western connections, his partnership with the Yakuza proves incredibly fruitful. After all, money bought silence, influence and above all, power.
But not everyone stayed bought.
Ran Moban.
Leandro Oliveira’s Racy Variant Cover!
Orphaned at eight. Ran fought for survival in the shadows of Kamagasaki’s back alleys. Captured and sold at twelve. Scarred by a broken bottle wielded by the Wolf that almost took her right eye at fifteen. Vanished by twenty.
Some said Ran trained with an old Sohei master in Kyoto. Others whispered she’d been part of a vigilante sect in Thailand or had a grandfather who made pizzas in the remote forest of Tochigi Prefecture. Only one thing was certain…  the 22-year-old has returned to Tokyo, and she comes carrying steel.
And she will have her revenge.
The Great Dan Lawlis Brings The Vengeance With This Striking Variant Cover!
For the first time ever, Eisner Award and Inkpot recipient Billy Tucci brings back the inspiration to his legendary comic book character, Shi. In the past thirty-years Shi has garnered accolades, nominations, sold millions of comics and along with Brian Pulido’s Lady Death and Vampirella,  launched the Bad Girl genre.
One can never argue with success as Tucci’s Ana Ishikawa has become a beloved staple to comics fans the world over, but to him there was always the question of what if?
What if he gone with his initial creation and in her purest and most raw form?
The amazing Fred Benes Delivers The Timeless Variant Cover Image!
That question has now been answered as Crusade Comics is proud to bring you, Ran: Revenge of the Warrior. Taking place in Tokyo, 1993, Ran is everything Tucci always wanted to do with Shi but never dared. In all its 1990’s Bad Girl glory, Revenge of the Warrior introduces the world to the character who started it all in this 48-page, no holds barred, neon-noir samurai macabre that pulls no punches and offers no mercy.
