Comments: Gaia is in trouble, and Lucian Plunder is the cause. Lucian wants the rings of power that the Planeteers have.
All the Planeteers arrive in New York as we do, and we learn a little about each one and their personalities. Two of them are shown in action using their powers over planets and water. Kwame and Gi are both already skillful with their powers. The illustrations of their powers are a sight to see. Kwame and Gi work so well together here. Then we see the Planeteers with fire and wind abilities, Wheeler and Linka. Ma-Ti, with the power of the heart, takes control of things. He does have a commanding presence.
One being has an even more commanding presence as he is finally called upon. How do the teens know to summon him? When he appears, though, he is poised, ready for action. His attitude said, ” Don’t mess with me. He is a protector of the planet and the teens.
More about each character in the team is needed for the reader to care more about them. Who are they? Plus, knowing more about how the rings came to be would be nice to see, and how Captain Planet was first formed.
This is a good build-up issue introducing the characters and Captain Planet. His look has been updated. He looks even more powerful. Captain Planet will protect our planet.
