THE POPULARITY OF MARVEL HEROES IN MEDIA
The world is a frightening place to live in lately. However, it’s very reassuring to believe that people exist somewhere who could protect the whole world from the perils that threaten to collapse its population. This also brings the picture of Man of Steel movie in the minds of many people. The superhero character in this movie depicts the ability to save people from this mental hangover which is often characterized by financial crisis, over-population, terrorist attacks, rising crime rates, killer viruses among others.
This world is basically on a constant knife edge which warrants all the escapism that people pursue when they promote marvel heroes. It also explains why they play games for money not just for entertainment purposes only, but for the financial benefit that would come out of them. People generally wish that superheroes would be a reality to save the world from the impending turmoil.
According to a celebrated comic book writer Mark Millar, good economic times usually signal the death of superheroes. On the other hand, bad economic times often warrant their existence as people secretly wish that this was a real phenomenon like in the movies.
Real world examples that inspire superheroes characters to grow in popularity
Back in the 1930s during the Great Depression, superhero characters were very popular in the media. Then when things got better, their popularity subsided. But what do such trends depict? Well, the general idea is that people are hungry for such content because they believe that superheroes are characters that entertain while giving hope to the hopeless.
Superheroes movie directors are intelligent while sensitive
If you sit back and start analyzing X-men, you will realize that this movie was quite challenging to plot. The movie has different characters, and all of them possess superhero traits which make them bigger than the world’s problems.
And now the challenge was? How could they make this movie acceptable to an adult audience? Director Bryan Singer must have been very intelligent in this. His excellent work is quite evident in the way the movie was directed. In fact, he made it fun enough to capture all audiences, including those who were not into comic books. If there was no element of intelligence, the movie would have easily taken a wrong turn.
In the 1970s, people had no idea what they were handling in terms of superheroes. In 1979 for example, Superman the Movie gained enough public attention despite being scripted by Mario Puzo. And do you know that this guy has never ever appeared among the list of top comic book writers?
However, things are taking a different turn today. Not only is the media promoting marvel heroes, but the directors are talented and well connected to the material. You cannot underestimate these screen writers and directors. Their work is in the upper A-list category and they are coming up in numbers so to speak. These directors are also creative in the sense that they are aware of the fact that superheroes should involve more that explosions and action set pieces.http://www.firstcomicsnews.com/the-popularity-of-marvel-heroes-in-media/http://www.firstcomicsnews.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/marvel-cinematic-universe-logo-600x257.pnghttp://www.firstcomicsnews.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/marvel-cinematic-universe-logo-150x64.pngMovie & TV NewsNews
