THE KIDS’ COMIC CON ROAD SHOW TAKES TO THE AIR… ALL THE WAY TO ARIZONA!
Glendale, AZ (January, 2018) – The Kids Comic Con (KCC) Road Show is winging its way from New York to Glendale, Arizona for the second Ace Comic Con. The convention, taking place January 13th through 15th comes hot on the heels of the inaugural Ace Comic Con, the December show that wowed attendees in Long Island, New York with guest-appearances from superstars of movies, comics, cosplaying, and even famous fantasy vehicles.
The KCC Road Show was a major part of the New York Ace show, providing its special, family-friendly brand of comic book fun and creativity for all ages. Now, the team returns for more action-packed excitement at the Gila River Arena in Arizona, joining a host of comics creators as well as stars from Marvel’s Avengers movies!
Led by veteran KCC team members, Alex Simmons (Archie, Scooby Doo, Batman, Blackjack) and Michael Lopez (Life’s a Beach), the Road Show is thrilled to welcome some local artists to the festivities: Jan Marc “The Janimal” Quisumbing and Sean Sautter. Jan is president of the Northern Arizona Cartoonist Association. In addition to creating his own comics, he teaches drawing classes for kids at local libraries. Sean is a self-taught artist building a local following, currently working on a semi-autobiographical comic strip, as well as a children’s book.
There will also be some special guest artists stopping by KCC HQ to offer aspiring cartoonists their remarkable insights: Afua Richardson and Colleen Doran. Afua has illustrated some of the most iconic superheroes in comics, including Wonder Woman, Black Panther, Batman, and the X-Men. She’s also a flautist, singer, songwriter, voice actor, activist and more! Coleen is the New York Times best-selling artist of Neil Gaiman’s acclaimed graphic novel, Troll Bridge. Her extensive comics credits including drawing Wonder Woman, Spider-Man, Superman, Squirrel Girl, Justice League, Teen Titans and more.
Ace Con Arizona is just the first KCC event for 2018, leading into the flagship annual event coming this spring. KCC’s mission is to encourage positivity through imagination and creativity, with special kid-targeted programming including drawing workshops, special presentations, cosplayers, panels and autograph signings by a variety of comics industry and children’s entertainment professionals.
“KCC’s primary goal is to promote reading, creativity, and exploration in kids’ lives,” KCC founder Alex Simmons said. “We believe it’s so important that young people embrace a continuous flow of positive ideas, skills, and outlets for their thinking as well as self-esteem.”http://www.firstcomicsnews.com/the-kids-comic-con-road-show-takes-to-the-air-all-the-way-to-arizona/http://www.firstcomicsnews.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/09/KCC-Logo-600x257.pnghttp://www.firstcomicsnews.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/09/KCC-Logo-150x64.pngNewsarizona,comic,takes
