On Friday night, Oct 6, 2017, Pacific Coast Wrestling (PCW) held another live event from the ILWU Memorial Hall in Wilmington, California which is just west of Long Beach. The card, “Demonized,” was headlined by a PCW Championship bout featuring John Hennigan (aka Johnny Nitro/Mundo/Impact) defending his PCW Heavyweight title against Brian Cage. Both stars have been featured prominently on El Rey’s Lucha Underground series.
It also featured bonafide wrestling legend Terry Funk in a crowd-pleasing little melee along with ECW Original The Sandman and former WCW star and master of the Dungeon of Doom, Kevin Sullivan. Also three were also present during the Meet & Greet which happened prior to the opening bell.
Other popular names from the independent circuit in attendance to meet and watch perform were Penta El Zero M, Willie Mack, Sami Callihan and Jeff Cobb. All four also featured on the Lucha Underground program as well as popular cult favorite promotion Pro Wrestling Guerilla (PWG).
Overall the event was quite entertaining. A well-paced card with no matches being particularly boring. The crowd was pretty hot from the first match and stayed into it. It was pretty cool seeing Terry Funk do his thing which included him getting busted open in classic hardcore fashion.

PCW has shows booked going into December 2018 including the next event “Refuse To Lose” on December 1, 2017 once again at the ILWU Memorial Hall which features not just the return of the Funker but also another popular legend Stan “The Lartiat” Hansen as well as popular independent star Zack Zabre, Jr. Tickets are available here: http://www.pacificcoastwrestling.com/store/c9/Tickets.html
I would be remiss if I didn’t mention an incident which occurred sometime during the show. After I left the event immediately following the Main Event ended at around 11:20p I was notified by my friend who attended the event with me that his car had been broken into and burglarized. The area where the event takes place is in a very industrial looking area and apparently not very safe.
I mentioned this on the SoCalUncensored.com Message Board where I had been trying to give away an extra ticket I had and user “PCWmatchmaker” stated that this was the “very first report of theft that we have encountered but you can rest assured that we will contact our local police force to develop a plan to patrol the area during our events.”
Hopefully, this next event will feature some sort of elevated patrolling security so no attendees will have to be worrying about their cars and can focus on the great wrestling experience that PCW seems dedicated to providing their fans.http://www.firstcomicsnews.com/pcw-demonized/http://www.firstcomicsnews.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/10/Demonized-logo-600x257.pnghttp://www.firstcomicsnews.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/10/Demonized-logo-150x64.pngNewsWrestling News
