Health and the Challenges That Inspire Authors
Many graphic memoirs share a common theme of mental health issues that the subject has encountered as a spouse, child, or family member, or that they have overcome or continue to deal with. How can educators and librarians use these stories as a way to either instill compassion and empathy or to help that reader find a way to resolve their own challenges?

Location: New York Public Library, 476 5thAve. – Trustees Room

Join Lion Forge editor Christina “Steenz” Stewart, Eisner award-winning store owner Jenn Haines, and others for ideas on how both can help strengthen their graphic novel section, as well as produce events to serve their collective.
