From scam-artist cops infecting LA’s underbelly to rampaging volcano goddesses, these new comics take full advantage of every geography and era. But how do cartoonists trip on these intoxicating worlds, and how do they evolve? John Layman (Chew), Donny Cates (God Country, Redneck), Johnnie Christmas (Firebug), Steve Lieber (The Fix), Pornsak Pichetshote (Infidel), and Anthony Del Col (Son of Hitler) chat about cultivating new genres for new audiences.

What do Charles Soule (Curse Words), Tini Howard (Hack/Slash: Resurrection), Jacob Semahn (No. 1 With A Bullet), Jim Zub (Wayward), and Farel Dalrymple (Proxima Centauri) have in common?
