MCM BIRMINGHAM COMIC CON – THE NEC – 19-20 NOVEMBER 2016

Whether he’s playing a sinister supervillain, barbarous orc, heroic druid or freedom-loving gladiator, our latest special guest certainly knows how to kick ass on screen! Yes, we’re thrilled to announce that Manu Bennett, whose film and TV credits include Arrow, Spartacus, The Hobbit and The Shannara Chronicles, will be joining us when MCM Birmingham Comic Con storms back to the NEC on 19-20 November.

New Zealand-born Bennett is best known for playing the villainous Slade Wilson – aka Deathstroke – in CW superhero show Arrow; tough-as-nails gladiator Crixus in Spartacus: Blood and Sand and its sequel series, and dwarf-hating orc chieftain Azog the Defiler in Peter Jackson’s The Hobbit trilogy. Manu also stars in fantasy drama The Shannara Chronicles, playing magic-wielding Allanon, last of the druids, in MTV’s ongoing adaptation of Terry Brooks’ best-selling novel series.

Manu Bennett’s other appearances include Alaskan bloodsucker 30 Days of Night; award-winning Aussie film Lantana; John Cena actioner The Marine; legendary adventure show Xena: Warrior Princess and, earlier this year, Seth MacFarlane cartoon American Dad!.

Manu Bennett joins a Birmingham Comic Con guest list that already includes 2001: A Space Odyssey stars Keir Dullea and Gary Lockwood; actor, singer and musician AJ Michalka; Flash Gordon lead Sam J. Jones; Game of Thrones actors Ian McElhinney, Ian Beattie and Josef Altin; plus a host of cast and crew from famous franchises such as Star Wars; Doctor Who; James Bond; Carry On and Hammer horror.
