Baltimore, Maryland – The resurgent world of tabletop games comes under the spotlight in the latest volume in the Overstreet “How To” series from Gemstone Publishing. 15TThe Overstreet Guide To Collecting Tabletop Games15T, due in comic book and game shops in June 2018, will offer valuable insights to newcomers and seasoned gamers alike.

From Munchkin, Clank!, and Zombicide to HeroClix, Magic the Gathering, classic Dungeons & Dragons and well beyond, the book will feature an in-depth look at this booming hobby with a focus on tabletop RPGs, board games, card games, and more.

The 224-page, softcover, full-color volume will include interviews with some of the biggest pros in the business. Long-time collectors will provide insight and feature articles will offer historical context for today’s successful trends. 15TThe Overstreet Guide to Collecting Tabletop Games15T is now in production and is set to arrive in June 2018. Advertising rates and additional news about the book will be released shortly.

The book is co-written by Gemstone’s resident gaming expert, Carrie Wood. In addition to contributing to The Overstreet Comic Book Price Guide and all of the company’s publications, Wood served as the lead author for 15TThe Overstreet Guide To Collecting Video Games and for The Overstreet Guide To Cosplay15T.

Wood’s collaborator on this new book is Game Trade Media’s (GTM) Richard Ankney. The gaming veteran is host of Board Games and Beyond, Painting Happy Lil Minis, and Building Character on GTM’s channel and Wow Factor on Comic Wow.

“With so many games being published on so many different platforms, people who may have played games with their families when they are younger are finding themselves returning to the game table. And in that they are not only playing new games, but seeking out the games they played in their youth,” Ankney said.

“And crowdfunding campaigns on platforms like Kickstarter have seemingly been a huge boon to the industry, not only in terms of raising the money to make the games, but also getting an enthusiastic, emotional buy-in from the supporters,” Wood said. “We’ll explore that angle as well as everything else about this great field.”

15TThe Overstreet Guide To Collecting Tabletop Games15T joins a roster that includes 15TThe Overstreet Guide To Grading Comics, The Overstreet Guide To Collecting Comics, The Overstreet Guide To Collecting Comic and Animation Art, The Overstreet Guide To Collecting Video Games15T, 15TThe Overstreet Guide To Cosplay15T, 15TThe Overstreet Guide To Collecting Movie Posters15T, 15TThe Overstreet Guide To Collecting Concert Posters15T, and 15TThe Overstreet Guide To Collecting Horror15T, which is due out October 4, 2017.

“There’s a whole lot going on in the gaming industry right now,” Wood said. “I don’t want to spoil everything we’ve got planned for the book, but we’ve already done some really cool interviews with collectors and pros alike. I think even the most veteran Dungeon Master is going to learn something new from this one.”
