Hello Heroes!
Today I invite you to read another one of my Super Hero Squad reviews! This time we are going to be looking at a set from the Iron Man 2 movie line, Armor Wars Part 1.
This set is named after a classic storyline that ran though Iron Man comics (#225-231) in the 80′s.
The back of the box shows the three figures of the series in their Super Hero Squad form as well as the Armor Wars Part II and Armor Evolutions sets.
Ok, let’s start with Iron Man! I looked up what style of armor this is and it came up as Mark 09 from the comics. A straightforward version of the figure, not bad, but not overly exciting. Articulation in the arms and head. This Iron Man can also be seen in the Series 15 set with Spider-Woman, but with a gold paint job instead of the yellow seen here.
Now, Iron Monger. Very cool figure. I like the way he looks. Very limited articulation on him. His arms move, but not very much. Glad they made him as more villains are always a good thing. If I were to have a complaint, it would be that Iron Monger, Obadiah Stane, was dead before the Armor Wars started.
War Machine looks pretty cool as well. He’s posed and ready for action. The neon green accents look nice and give him the appearance as if he was powered up and ready for war. He has some articulation, but as with most posed Super Hero Squad figures there is not too much you can do other than keep them in that one position.
This is a cool set. The stand-out figures for me are the Iron Monger and War Machine. A real nice addition to my SHS collection.
