DIRECTOR KEITH AREM LAUNCHES
REVOLUTIONARY IPAD GRAPHIC NOVEL ‘INFEX’
Innovative Game Creator takes Mobile User Experience to New Heights Combining Celebrity Voice-Over and Anime-Inspired Style with Unprecedented Score and Sound Design.
Los Angeles, CA (July 30, 2012)— Talent director Keith Arem, known for his work on the record-breaking video games “Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3,” “Saints Row the Third” and “The Amazing Spider-Man,” has released a next-gen graphic novel exclusively for the Apple iPad available on iTunes here http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/infex/id538082903?mt=8.
The action-thriller “INFEX” is a breakthrough revolutionary interactive App, features animated artwork, an original orchestrated soundtrack, and celebrity voice-overs provided by seasoned actors Lance Henriksen (“Aliens” and “Terminator”), Michael Wincott (“The Crow”), William Fichtner (“Black Hawk Down” and “Contact”), Nolan North (“Uncharted”), Troy Baker (“Last of Us”) and Steve Blum (“Wolverine”). Arem wrote and directed the script, and Arem’s PCB Productions produced the project. The App is showing concurrently with the collector’s graphic novel with co-creator Brandon Humphreys and artist Shake J. “INFEX” will made an official debut at San Diego Comic-Con 2012.
“INFEX” shadows cancer survivor, Evelyn “Ivy” Kendall, who discovers her father’s chemotherapy research contains the secret to ending human disease and is the blueprint for creating genetically engineered monsters. But when her father is murdered for his technology, Ivy is unaware of the lethal mutation he has hidden inside her. Fifteen years later, her father’s company, IngenBio Corporation, discovers her secret and imprisons Ivy in their underground labyrinth. Assisted by former soldier Garrett Thorne, they must escape the facility and expose the truth about her father’s murder.
“‘INFEX’ is truly the next generation of graphic novels,” states Arem about the App. “With our platform, we can now incorporate animation, music and sound, which all combine to heighten user interactivity to levels that have never been seen before in a book. I love the tactile experience of reading a book, and this application allows us to deliver that same experience for the popular and growing graphic novel medium, combined with the production value of a game.”
Actor Lance Henriksen backed Arem’s sentiments. “The incredible work that Keith has achieved in his games and upcoming films is reflected in this book,” he said. “Keith has created an immersive experience with this App, in the same way his books and games have inspired his audience. With ‘INFEX,’ he’s brought everything to a new level, and will set the bar for how graphic novels are presented in the future.”
Arem’s work to date is featured on the largest game franchises of this year, including: “Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3,” “Saints Row the Third,” “Ghost Recon Future Soldier,” “Fall of Cybertron,” “Sleeping Dogs,” and “The Amazing Spider-Man.” Following its Holiday 2011 landmark as the largest first day sales total in history, Activision’s “Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3” continues to break records not only for video games, but for all entertainment media; Activision Blizzard Inc., reported $1 Billion in worldwide sales during its first month. Game developer Infinity Ward contracted Arem as their celebrity talent director – responsible for directing all voice actors in the game including William Fichtner, Idris Elba, Bruce Greenwood and Timothy Olyphant. Arem is already hard at work on the next installment of the franchise.
