Hello Heroes!
The cool people from Marvelicious Toys podcast tweeted me to let me know that a new set of Marvel Super Hero Squad figures had been released. I love Hasbro’s Super Hero Squad figures and have loads of them! They are small, standing about 2 inches tall but are very cool, very cute. Just released are three new sets from the upcoming Amazing Spider-man movie.
The one that really caught my attention was the “Escape From Lizard’s Lair
” set for nothing else other than it had a Gwen Stacy figure! That is really awesome! It’s not often we are treated to a new female figure, so to see this important character in the Marvel Universe treated to this format is…amazing.I thought Gwen might have been a repaint or retool because her pose was strikingly similar to Marvel Girl’s from an earlier two-pack.
Surprisingly, Spider-man is an all new sculpt. Not the best job on the paint application, especially his feet.
The Lizard looks very cool as far as this figure goes. I don’t know how well he will come across in the movie, but this one looks good.
The other two sets in this series of Spider-man movie line, really don’t catch my fancy. They consist of re-paints and re-releases, most of which I already have.
