Day 6 was probably the most uneventful day of my trip so far. I was incredibly busy for most of it – it just wasn’t as interesting as the days that came before …

It all started very early (as usual) since I had to catch a morning flight from Toronto to San Diego. Somehow I managed to crawl my way out of bed and get to the subway on time.

Two trains and a bus later, and I found myself in a ridiculously long customs line, desperately hoping I’d make my flight. I shouldn’t have worried as the flight was significantly delayed anyway.

We landed in San Diego just after lunch (thanks to the time difference) and I made my way south to the hotel I’m staying in. It’s right on the border in San Ysidro, so it’s about a 45 minute ride from town. Not ideal, but I couldn’t say no at the price.

I arrived and quickly settled in to get some work done. These articles don’t write themselves, and I still had a lot of emailing, networking and organising to do before Comic-Con began.

First, however, I headed out to the nearby K-mart to buy some supplies for my stay. I highly recommend taking your own food and drink along to the show as it gives you healthier options and won’t cost a fortune.

My return trip was rather comical as I’d bought too much and the flimsy bags they’d provided were starting to break along the way … It wasn’t pretty, but I made it back and settled in for the night.

Then I got to work again.

See, I told you it was a little boring – but that was exactly what I needed before the madness began. The next few days are going to be a whirlwind, so stay with me and hold on tight … San Diego Comic-Con awaits!
