- J.C. Vaughn has created Zombie-Proof, Vampire, PA, and horror anthology Bedtime Stories For Impressionable Children, and he is working on two more horror properties, Dead Inspector and The Fires of Moonlight. He recently co-wrote three issues of Mighty Samson, with Jim Shooter, and edited A Child Is Born for Billy Tucci. Before that, He wrote or co-wrote Shi (with Tucci), 24 (based on the Fox TV series), Cory Doctorow’s Futuristic Tales of the Here & Now (adapting Doctorow’s “When Sysadmins Ruled the Earth”), Blue Beetle in the DC Universe Holiday Special 2008, and Battlestar Galactica. Most people know him because he serve as Associate Publisher and Executive Editor of Gemstone Publishing, which is best known as the home of The Overstreet Comic Book Price Guide and the Scoop email newsletter. He recently finished the Free Comic Book Day edition of Comic Book Marketplace and are hard at work on The Overstreet Comic Book Price Guide #42. As the author of more than 5,000 feature articles, reviews and informational pieces, he has produced or helped produce The Official Price Guide To Pop Culture Memorabilia, The Official Price Guide To Disney Collectibles, The Overstreet Comic Book Grading Guide, The Big Big Little Book Book: An Overstreet Photo-Journal, The Official Price Guide to Mechanical Banks, The Official Price Guide To Mickey Mouse Collectibles, and other books. He has contributed articles to Back Issue, Style Century, Comics Buyer’s Guide, Antique Toy World, Toy Collector Magazine, and Toy Shop, and have been a columnist for The Journal of Antiques & Collectibles, Antique Trader, and Collectors Gazette, and he also assisted in the development and opening of Geppi’s Entertainment Museum in Baltimore’s historic Camden Yards sports complex.
